The Superiors' Meeting

The Superiors’ Meeting of the Province was held at Alverna Bhavan, Bangalore, from 5th to 7th March 2026. The gathering was a meaningful occasion for reflection, learning, sharing, and strengthening our fraternal bonds.

The first day began with a session led by Rev. Fr. Jose Vettam, SDB, who served as the resource person. Sr. Mercykutty Karakkattu, the Provincial, introduced the resource person, and Sr. Sophy Acharuparambil, the Vicar Provincial, welcomed him with a bouquet. Fr. Jose Vettam animated the session on the theme “Leadership Qualities.” In his inspiring presentation, he emphasized the importance of building healthy relationships within our communities, drawing inspiration from the spirit and example of St. Francis of Assisi. His insights encouraged the Superiors to cultivate servant leadership rooted in humility, fraternity, and mutual respect.

On the second day, Sr. Sabi, the Regional Superior, conducted a session on “Seeds of Eternal Life,” highlighting the significance of living the values of the Year of St. Francis of Assisi in our daily religious life and mission. Later, Sr. Mercykutty Karakkattu, the Provincial, spoke on Servant Leadership, inviting the Superiors to reflect deeply on their role in guiding the communities. This session included group discussions and presentations, which provided an opportunity for the participants to share their experiences, challenges, and insights. Time was also allotted for sharing about their apostolic activities and fraternal life in the communities. These interactions created a space for mutual encouragement and inspiration.

​First Profession and Silver Jubilee Celebration at Alverna Bhavan, Bangalore

A joyful and grace-filled celebration of the First Profession and Silver Jubilee was held on 14th May 2026 at Alverna Bhavan, Bangalore.
The Holy Eucharistic Celebration began at 10:30 a.m. and was solemnly presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Arogyaraj Satis Kumar, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bangalore. Priests from the neighboring Ashram concelebrated the Holy Mass.
During the Eucharistic celebration, Miss Mandangi Rina and Miss Smruti Rani Nayak made their First Religious Profession, dedicating their lives to the Lord in the Congregation with faith, joy, and commitment.
On the same occasion, Sr. Treesa Sumi Villa and Sr. Mini Chacko Arangath gratefully celebrated the Silver Jubilee of their religious profession, thanking God for twenty-five years of faithful consecrated life and dedicated service to the Church and the Congregation.
The celebration was prayerful, meaningful, and spiritually enriching. Sisters, family members, relatives, friends, and well-wishers participated in the solemn function and joined in thanking God for His abundant blessings.
Following the Holy Mass, a felicitation program was held to honor the newly professed sisters and the jubilarians. The gathering appreciated their generous response to God’s call and their committed service. The celebration concluded with an Agape meal, fostering fellowship, joy, and gratitude among all who were present.
May the Lord continue to bless the newly professed sisters and the jubilarians with His grace, strength, and guidance as they journey faithfully in their consecrated vocation.

New Mission Opened in the Diocese of Tura at Bakdil Social Centre, Songsak

The new mission of the RFTS Congregation at BAKDIL Social Centre, Songsak, in the Diocese of Tura, was officially inaugurated on 30th April 2026 with a solemn Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration, followed by the blessing of the convent and a welcoming program.
The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Levio Sangma, Bishop’s Delegate and Parish Priest of Songsak. Rev. Fr. Livingston Marak, Parish Priest of Chidimit, Rev. Fr. Benoy Joseph, Director of BAKDIL, and Rev. Fr. Linto, Superior of Trinitarian Ashram, Tulsibari, concelebrated the Eucharistic celebration.
Rev. Fr. Benoy Joseph and the staff of BAKDIL warmly welcomed the sisters with bouquets and shawls. During the felicitation program, Rev. Fr. Levio Sangma delivered the felicitation address, and the parishioners presented a beautiful welcome song.
At the end of the program, Rev. Sr. Mercykutty Karakkattu, Provincial of RFTS, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Most Rev. Andrew R. Marak, Bishop of Tura, and Most Rev. Jose Chirackal, Auxiliary Bishop of Tura Diocese, for their support, encouragement, prayers, and blessings. She also thanked Rev. Fr. Benoy Joseph, Director of BAKDIL, Rev. Sr. Mariangela Gregolon, Mother General, all the well-wishers, and the community members — Rev. Sr. Jain Thundathil, Superior, Sr. Smitha, and Sr. Joniya — who courageously responded to God’s call to serve in this new mission center.
May Almighty God bless this new mission abundantly and make it a source of hope, compassion, and service to the people of the region.

On 7th March 2026, the Superiors enjoyed a one-day outing to Mysore. The group visited St. Philomena’s Church, the Mysore Zoo, the Mysore Palace, and the Brindavan Gardens. The outing provided a joyful and refreshing experience, strengthening the sense of unity and sisterhood among the participants.

The meeting concluded with heartfelt gratitude to Almighty God for His abundant blessings upon the Province. The days together were enriching and inspiring, strengthening the commitment of the Superiors to serve their communities with renewed zeal and dedication.
